Construction of a new hot blast stove of Kalugin design has been completed at JFE STEEL Corporation in Japan
On 21st of February 2018 in Japan construction of a new hot blast stove of Kalugin design (KSS) constructed as per the project developed by KALUGIN’s experts was completed at JFE STEEL Corporation (Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture) at Blast Furnace No.3 of 4300 m³ capacity.
At present the hot blast stove is in the process of drying and heating. Upon completion the stove will be connected to the existing hot stove unit and final tests for guaranteed performance parameters will be performed this May.
It is to be recalled that this is the second hot blast stove constructed at Blast Furnace No.3 of JFE STEEL (Fukuyama). The first KSS has already been in operation since November, 2011. According to JFE STEEL, reconstruction of two more hot blast stoves with KSS is scheduled for 2018-2020 at this blast furnace after which the unit consisting of four KSS will operate at BF No.3.
